Windows Media Player Legacy is in Windows 10. Open the old Control Panel. Set View at the top of the old Control Panel to large icons. Select Programs and Features. Click 'Turn windows Features on or off' on the left. Expand the 'Media Features' section and from there you can enable the old Windows Media Player (Legacy).

I frequently record free-to-air TV as MTS files and I would prefer to set the default app to Media Player Classic (MPC-HC x64). Windows 10 Home v. 1803, build 17134.228 doesn't offer that option. Is there a workaround? FWIIW: I find VLC Media Player a vastly inferior app lacking in controls and a general PITA! Hence the preference for MPC. Answer.
